Developers aren't fools either, they come up with methods to fight piracy but still, games get cracked. Games protected with Denuvo DRM gets cracked but takes some time. Also, the games protected with DRMs takes a lot of resources of PC. It would still take many years to get rid of piracy.
Why you shouldn't do piracy:-
1) It'll introduce your PC to malware and viruses
Some sources claim that they are providing you with a safe copy of the game, but it is actually a malware binded with the game. How can you be so sure that the person who has uploaded it hasn't binded malware and malicious codes with that file.
In 2013, AVG found that 90% of games are infected with viruses. Even if the file seems safe, there's something wrong with it.
The time when first Watch Dogs launched, players who pirated it on PC were treated to Bitcoin-mining malware and it used their PC resources to mine Bitcoin for the Malware creator/Hacker.
Not all the cracked games are infected with malware but it doesn't mean that you should pirate games. Developers work hard day and night and we're not appreciating them by piracy.
2) It may land you into legal troubles
While pirating games, IP address is not hidden until you're using a VPN. Even if you're using a VPN it wouldn't be hard for the ethical hackers working under authority to track you. Downloading copyrighted stuff is illegal and you can go to jail for that. Copyrighted stuff can be anything like Music, Video, Movie, Game etc.
3) Losing online privileges
You wouldn't be able to play online after pirating a game. Online gaming is in trend and if you are not able to access that then you're missing out something. If you're using a jailbroken PS4 or Xbox and try to connect online, your account will get banned immediately and you'll never get it back. All your purchases will get wasted because of saving a few dollars. Why would you risk something like that?
Microsoft banned a million players playing pirated games after modifying their Xbox 360.
4) The game may not work at all
After downloading the pirated file you're not sure that it'll work or not. Some devs use DRM to save their game from piracy but it still it gets cracked after some time. One of the most famous copyright protection was 1994's EarthBound, a role-playing game on the SNES. If the game discovers you're using an illegitimate copy, it'll start showing you anti-piracy messages and will increase the number of enemies in the game which will get harder to beat. But in the end, fighting the final boss, the game freezes and automatically deletes the entire save data. What would be more frustrating than that? There are some similar examples like in Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman's glide falls straight to the ground and in this way, you never get through the introduction. In Crysis 1, developers replaced the bullets with chicken so that you can't defeat your enemies.
5) Inappropriate content
While downloading, searching for pirated games you may open yourself up to inappropriate content like pornographic or other NSFW content. You can get pop-up ads and you may download something inappropriate by clicking the wrong download button. And it is malware mostly. You may also see inappropriate ads on your browser's home page.
You should completely stop piracy, not only for your PC's safety but for yours also. Just because of saving a few dollars I don't want you to do something stupid. It's gonna be okay if you won't buy the game on launch. You can wait for a few months to get it for cheap atleast you'd be playing a safe and legal copy which won't give you pain. In the end, I just wanna tell you that developers work hard day and night to make games possible for you and you should support them. By pirating games you are hurting developers who are dependent on sales to make a living. I ain't saying that everyone does piracy but it was important to make a post and spread awareness.
Hope this would help you understand. Say no to piracy and Happy Gaming :)

I never enjoy a free game unless the publisher makes it free. for example I am currently playing batman Arkham asylum which i got for free but i play it with confident and happiness because the publisher (epic games store) made it free officialy for a week as an 80th year anniversary of batman.
