Days Gone was considered one of the biggest PS4 exclusive but when it was released last year, it was more of a disappointment. People not only forgot this game so early but due to bad reviews from critics, it affected the sales also. We liked the game personally and fighting the hordes was fun, the storyline was also balanced and good and we didn't feel like leaving the game in between and actually enjoyed it to its fullest. While some critics gave it a poor score, some also gave a very good score of 8 and 9. The game won two awards in last year's Golden Joystick awards - PlayStation Game of the Year and Best Storytelling. Bugs and glitches in the launch of the game also affected reviews somewhere and it ruined the experience without a doubt. In this post, we're going to tell you that why Days Gone is already a next-gen game.

Days Gone is a beautiful looking game with high-quality visuals but visuals could also be improved if the PS4 had better hardware, if Days Gone comes to PS5, no doubt it'll look stunning. Days Gone has a beautiful wide-open world where you can do a lot of things after completing the main story. You can find and fight hordes, do side missions, and plenty of other things. The main story is around 40 hours long and if you do side missions, the playtime can extend to more than 50 hours.
Days Gone was delayed three times before finally releasing on April 26, 2019. Developers claimed before that the game can't even maintain 30 FPS on PS4 and they did a hell lot of optimization before finally releasing it. People were waiting for it for long and it was one of the most anticipated games of PS4. When the game released, it was able to maintain 30 FPS but at some points, the frame rate was dropping to even 20. Don't know what's the current state of frame rate now but when I played it last year, the frame rates were dropping to 20 at some points.
The game Sony Bend Studios designed wasn't even made for PS4 and it was clearly struggling to maintain 30 FPS. It was full of bugs and glitches at launch despite being delayed three times. Bend Studios did give their proper time to polish the game but they had to release it and after release, they kept pushing updates to make the game stable and it's pretty much stable now. The last update also decreased the file size of the game. That's a great initiative and still, many companies don't do so.
Devs faced many problems running the game on PlayStation 4 and they also said that whatever mistakes they did with Days Gone won't be repeated in the sequel.

We'll hopefully come to see a sequel when the PS5 will be released. Days Gone's story was kinda finished but if the developers have plans to take the series further, they'd definitely have something in their minds. It can be a prequel also showing properly how the worst things started and where they lie now or a sequel also showing the condition of the world with an engaging story and a new category of enemies. The truth about zombies in Days Gone was harsh and in the ending where Deacon met O Brian, that was the main ending which left us numb. They can also show what happened to O Brian after the meeting with Deacon and how he was doing things when Deacon was finding his old lady.

Do tell us in the comments what new you'd like to see in the next part of Days Gone.
